Arnhem has a fresh water pump system that pumps municipal fresh water from the ground floor, up to the roof tanks. These tanks in turn provide water pressure to all apartments. For some years now, this system has created a banging sound (hydraulic shock) as the pump turns off. This can be heard throughout the northwestern side of the building. After many months of investigation, the problem was isolated to the incorrect non return valves installed on the ground floor pump system. The valves were replaced by Charlson Pumps on the 17 April 2021. This relatively minor upgrade should significantly reduce the noise from the pump system for the 01 & 02 units, and increase the lifespan of the pipes running up to the roof.
